Transverse reinforcement (tie, hoop and crosstie) design check of one rectangular, nonprestressed column in one-way shear to ACI CODE-318-25 (procedure ENG-2026-10-030): the section, the materials, the factored shear with its concurrent axial force, the frame type and the seismic quantities that 18.7.6.2.1 tests, the longitudinal bars, and one trial tie pattern. The page selects the row of Table 22.5.5.1, applies the new 22.5.5.1.1 cap and floor, tests the 18.7.6.2.1 hinge region, then checks the required Vs, the section-size limit, the tie spacing and size, and the 6 in. lateral-support rule. Every parameter below is required. Press Solve the column shear check when the card is complete — if anything is missing or malformed the page opens a pop-up naming each parameter and computes nothing; an input that is well-formed but outside the procedure is refused with the clause that refuses it. Not covered here: shear in a circular or spiral column, beam-column joint shear, biaxial shear interaction, and torsion (22.7) — and the Chapter 18 confinement amount and spacing limits are pointed to rather than computed. A licensed engineer verifies the design.

No solution yet — complete every input in the card above and press Solve the column shear check. This card stays empty until a solution is computed, and it is emptied again the moment any input changes, so a displayed solution always belongs to the inputs on screen.
